![]() Also, this gives you the ability to have a truly random nuzlocke, which is very difficult to do with sword and shield right now. I know this version of the nuzlocke will be a bit controversial, given that it kinda spoils how your game is going to turn out, but I think it would add some new dynamics to the run. This way you can keep the excitement of wondering which pokemon you will get, but it also means you will need access to the internet so that you can generate random numbers, so unless you like using data, you can't really play away from home. OR (what I am personally doing) use the random number generator to determine which pokemon you will get every time you catch a new pokemon on a new route. Make another numbered list of the pokemon you are able to use, and using the random number generator again, determine at the start of the game the order you get the pokemon in (to explain, you get a random number from 1-36, and that number determines your starter, then remove that pokemon from the list, and generate a number from 1-35, thats your route 1 encounter, and so on and so on, and take all the encounters to make a new list of the order you get each pokemon. Step 4: From here, you breed and trade each pokemon into your new game, and then there are two ways to go about your encounters. Rhyhorn, Krabby, Honedge, Vanillite, Seedot, Cleffa, Solosis, Maractus, Helioptile, Jangmo-o, Dwebble, Cutiefly, Skorupi, Hippopotas, Pidove, Cherubi, Oddish, Mawile, Rotom, Magikarp, Snorunt, Duraludon, Goomy, Bronzor, Yamask (unova), Barbaoch, Electrike, Yamper, Swinub, Togedemaru, Timburr, Ferroseed, Shellos, Dhelmise, Sinistea, Trapinch Since there are 36 encounters, I will generate 36 random numbers between 1 and 190 (as there are 190 basic pokemon). I will do this so there is an example, and to get it out of the way for when I do this nuzlocke myself. Step 3: Using the random number generator, and the list of pokemon, figure out which pokemon you will be able to acquire during your run. Without counting any raids, gift pokemon like meowth and pikachu and eevee (aside from Toxel), and without counting eternatus, there are 36 encounters in the game (each area of the wild area being a unique encounter) Step 2: Find out how many encounters are in the game. Step 1: Have a numbered list of every basic pokemon in the game. ![]() I believe I have found a good solution to this, but I warn you, it will take another switch as there is trading involved, but it is very similar to an egglocke. If you just do ! grass, then you are missing all of the overworld, and if you close your eyes and run, you likely won't get any ! grass, and a lot of the aggressive pokemon will be more likely to encounter. Do you only go for ! grass? or do you just close your eyes and run around? The problem here, for me at least, is that by doing either of these, you are making it impossible to encounter a huge amount of the pokemon in the game. If you are like me, then you have struggled with the idea of traditional nuzlocke encounter rules for this game.
